Matthew grew up in Cairns and attended St Joseph’s Primary and St Mary’s Catholic College. Following secondary studies, Matthew moved to Brisbane to complete tertiary studies in Film and TV Production at Queensland University of Technology in 2004.
Over the next few years, Matthew worked as a video producer in Brisbane and Cork, Ireland; before returning to Australia and enrolling at the University of Queensland and completing a Masters of Clinical Audiology in 2009.
Matthew worked as an audiologist for Australian Hearing in Ipswich throughout 2010, providing rehabilitative services to Office of Hearing Services (OHS) clients. In 2011 Matthew moved back to Cairns to be part of the Cairns Audiology Group team, and further pursue his special interest in rehabilitative audiology.
Matthew’s current professional interests also include providing audiological support for ENT outreaches to regional and remote communities.
Matthew currently operates a monthly visiting clinic in Innisfail.
